Based at RAF Boscombe Down in Wiltshire, the Empire test pilots school (ETPS) provides courses for selected pilots. The idea of the course is to bring them to a recognised standard and teach them to be able to test each aircraft in flight. The helicopters are often seen using the Salisbury Plain area, just a few miles from Boscombe Down.
Many of the helicopters still fly with the "flying ice cream look" Raspberry Ripple. Please Click on the link for all Gazelle, Sea King, Lynx and Augusta 109 photographs.
