48th Fighter Wing on TDY
 

From Monday the 29th of June through to Thursday the 2nd of July the 48th Fighter wing temporary deployed (TDY) elsewhere in the Country due to some resurfacing work and maintainance work being carried out at RAF Lakenheath.

The 493rd Fighter wing (F15C)

went to RAF Coningsby where they took part in Exercise Yankee Import, hosted by number 11sqn flying against there Typhoons.

The 492nd (F15E) went down the road from Lakenheath to Mildenhall where i believe pilots from the 494th also used the aircraft to fly missions.

The Easterly winds meant runway11 at Mildenhall and runway 07 at Coningsby were being used.

On Friday the 3rd no missions, due to the run up to Independance Day on the 4th of July which is a American holiday.
